So another update! Been listening to believe it or not, AQUA’s new song, ‘Back to the 80’s”. And I love the song!

Back in the Ronald Reagan days
When we put satellites in space
When boys wore skinny leather ties
Like Don Johnson from Miami Vice

When Eminem was just a snack
And Michael Jackson's skin was black
Back when the coolest thing in store, oo-oh-oh
Was a Commodore 64

Back to the 80s
Back to Soap
Back to Rocky and Cherry Coke, yeah
Those were the days
And we go
Back to the 80s

Say 'Hey there, Mister T.'
Put Twisted Sisters on MTV
Those were the days
I'll come back
To Iron Maiden and 7Up
Bananarama and Breakfast Club
Come back Come back
I'll come back

When Huey Lewis was the news
And we went flying with Tom Cruise
When shoulder pads and looking tough, ooh-oh-oh
Was the dirty David Hasselhoff

Too many men with heavy makeup on (Hey)
Too many poodles with guitars
Thanks for all the joy you've given us
You will always be our superstars

Back to the 80s
Back to Soap (Back to soul)
Back to Rocky and Cherry Coke, yeah
Those were the days
And we go

Back to the 80s
Say 'Hey there, Mister T.'
Put Twisted Sisters on MTV, yeah
Those were the days
I'll come back

To Iron Maiden and 7-Up
Bananarama and Breakfast Club
Come back
Come back
I'll come back

Hooray for Cosby and Rubik's cube
Hooray for Dynasty and moon boots
Hooray for Devo and barber curls
Hooray for Poltergeist and Barbie girls

We love
We love
We love
We love

Back to the 80s (We love the 80s)
Back to Soap (We love it all)
Back to Rocky and Cherry Coke, yeah
Those were the days...
Let's go back!

Back to the 80s (To Ferris Bueller)
To Mister T. (Yeah)
And Twisted Sisters on MTV, yeah
Those were the days
I'll come back
To Iron Maiden and 7Up

Bananarama and Breakfast Club
Come back

Songs like these, and “We Didn’t Start The Fire” by Billy Joel makes me wish I lived in the 70s or 80s. There were so many things happening then! So many turning points and major events in the world happened then. It makes me wonder what our generation is known for. Obama? That’s pretty much what I can come up with. And being known for stuff like Jonas Brothers/Miley Cyrus. The 70s and 80s had Queen, Iron Maiden, KISS, Metallica, Guns n Roses, need I say more? But then again the 70s and 80s were still wrought with turmoil and a hostile USSR. Hmmm.

For an instant summary of history from 1949-1989, simply listen to Billy Joel’s We Didn’t Start The Fire.

I think it would be way easier listening to the song than reading the lyrics. Just Youtube it. From Wikipedia, it says “The song and music video have been interpreted as a rebuttal to criticism of Joel's Baby Boomer generation, from both its preceding and succeeding generations. The song's title and refrain imply that the frenzied and troubled state which others were criticizing had been the state of the world since long before his generation's time, but that this was being ignored by their critics.”

And just as I was thinking that my love for music was dying, along came the urge to download FOB’s mixtape: Welcome To The New Administration. It will not be released in a CD, since its just a mixtape, but it honestly should. It is the most cohesive album I’ve ever heard, one song links perfectly to the next, though that might be because DJ Clinton Sparks and some others are talking a lot of time eg. Pete Wentz, Gabe Saporta from Cobra Starship, William Beckett from The Academy Is…, Brendon Urie from Panic at the Disco, Cassadee from Hey Monday, Travis McCoy from Gym Class Heroes… Well basically its made up of Fueled by Ramen/Decaydance bands, and there’s Ludacris on it too, on the second track. Awesome mixtape. Even Butch Walker’s Mixtape is on there too.

Track listing:

Went for PlayMAX today, Yao Qi, Yuan Song were in my group with Izzy and Jia Rong. Jayne and Bong were supposed to go but Jayne had stuff on and Bong was/is sick =( Spent all our time at SmartMAX. Lol. I’m really not sure whether JR had fun (sure didn’t seem so) but Izzy said she had a nice time =) After everything, we went in search of earphones but they didn’t have the Crossroads $69.90 ones, so we tried on some other ones, including a $99 that was really good. Decided to wait till the stock comes so I can get either that or the $99 without regrets. Same reason why I didn’t get another $99 Sennheiser pair at the PC Show (yes, JR, Izzy and I went there and squeezed with everyone).

Went back to Raffles City and searched Sembawang, That CD Shop for The E.N.D. Deluxe Edition by Black Eyed Peas to no avail. The normal edition was selling at $24.95 at That CD Shop, and I headed to Gramophone and Capitol Centre to get it. And yes! They had the deluxe edition for $18.90. How awesome! I got Mika’s Parc Des Princes DVD as well, since I’ve been wanting it for a long time. Got it because I decided not to get Panic’s latest live album and I wasn’t getting the earphones. Well now I will have stuff to watch when I finally watch finish the Big Bang Theory (which I believe I will within these few days).

The Big Bang Theory is my latest obsession (besides AQUA and FOB’s mixtape). Absolutely crazy awesome show! First time I’m able to keep laughing on and on throughout the show, even that doesn’t happen with Friends. Its hilarious! I love the character Sheldon! There’s quite a lot of development/change in Sheldon and Leonard from the first season to the second. Sheldon was more normal in S1 and becomes way more neurotic in S2, and Leonard becomes normal from S1 to S2. I discovered that when I watched S2 then S1. Lol.

Ok, long post. Off to watch the latest episodes of So You Think You Can Dance!
